How to Make a Pornstar Martini: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Pornstar Martini is one of the Tidy Bar team’s favourites. It’s on the menu for 9 out of 10 events we do. It’s colourful, playful and so tasty which is why we love it. Here’s how to make the perfect Pornstar Martini using our very own Tidy Bar cocktail shaker.

Ingredients (for one person):

1. 50ml Absolut vanilla vodka
2. 25ml passion fruit liqueur
3. 25ml passion fruit puree
4. 15ml lime juice
5. 10ml vanilla syrup
6. 1 fresh passion fruit (halved)
7. Prosecco (served on the side)

Note: For the puree you can use the flesh of the passion fruit, or if you are making them at mass we normally use these:

Equipment:

1. Tidy Bar Cocktail shaker which comes with a jigger and strainer
2. Martini glass
3. Shot glass for Prosecco
4. Spoon

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare Your Ingredients:

Before you start mixing, ensure all your ingredients are ready. Cut one passion fruit in half and scoop out the seeds from one half - the other half will be used as a garnish. 

2. Chill Your Martini Glass:

To keep your Pornstar Martini perfectly chilled, place your martini glass in the freezer or fill it with ice while you prepare the cocktail. A chilled glass enhances the drinking experience, keeping your cocktail cold for longer.

3. Combine Ingredients in the Cocktail Shaker:

Add the vanilla vodka, passion fruit liqueur, passion fruit puree, lime juice, and sugar syrup into your cocktail shaker. The passion fruit puree adds a rich texture to the drink, while the lime juice balances the sweetness with a hint of sourness.

4. Shake Vigorously:

Fill your Tidy Bar cocktail shaker with ice and secure the lid tightly. Shake it hard for about 15-20 seconds. The shaking basically chills the mixture but also ensures that all ingredients are well combined, creating a smooth and flavourful cocktail. After shaking, remove the shakers from eachother.

5. Strain and Serve:

Take your martini glass out the freezer or remove the ice. Using a fine strainer, pour the shaken mixture into the martini glass, ensuring that no ice or flesh ffrom the passion fruit gets into the end drink. 

6. Garnish:

Place the remaining half of the passion fruit, flesh side up, on top of the cocktail. The floating passion fruit adds an exotic touch and a burst of colour, making the Pornstar Martini visually appealing.

7. Serve with Prosecco:

Traditionally, the Pornstar Martini is served with a shot of chilled Prosecco on the side. This is where it gets exciting – you can either sip the Prosecco separately or pour it into the cocktail for a fizzy and dry twist. 

Tips for the Perfect Pornstar Martini:

1. Use fresh ingredients: Fresh lime juice and passion fruit make a significant difference in the flavour profile.
2. Chill your shaker: For an extra cold drink, chill your cocktail shaker in the freezer before use or put some ice to the glass.
3. Adjust sweetness: Taste your cocktail before serving. If it’s too sour, add a touch more sugar syrup; if too sweet, add a bit more lime juice.
